Purpose
The purpose of local protective microwave detectors of "LUCH-M"  is to protect perimeter sectors of different sites and to generate alarms by breaking output contacts of the individual point relay when an intruder crosses a detection zone.


General Information

  • The detector is a bistatic microwave detector consisting of a transmitter and a receive.
  • The principle of the detector operation is to generate an electromagnetic field in the space between a transmitter and a receiver. The field forms a volumetric detection zone in the form of a stretched ellipsoid of rotation and registers the changes of this field when an intruder crosses a detection zone.
  • The detector provides continuous round-the-clock operation and keeps its specifications when the temperature is -40°Ñ...+50°Ñ and relative humidity is up to 98 % at +35°Ñ temperature.
  • The detector keeps operating and it is immune to:
    • precipitations such as snow, fog and rain;
    • solar radiation;
    • wind at a speed of up to 30m/sec.;
    • circulation of birds and small animals (a rat, a cat, etc.);
    • the height of surface irregularities in a detection zone + 0,3m maximum;
    • the height of snow blanket without additional adjustment up to 0,5 m;
    • the height of grass up to 0,3m;
    • EMI according to GOST R 50009-92.

Distinctive Features

  • Signal processing is used in the detector. It allows:
    • to enhance noise immunity, protect against adverse weather conditions and circulation of small animals;
    • to design "LUCH-MI" modification with RS-485 interface, which allows to connect the detector to a computerized security panel over a 2-wire communication line and to expand its functional capabilities (the detector operation control from an acquisition system, ability to acquire information about the detector status and etc.);
    • to update software on the on-the-fly basis while expanding functional capabilities.
  • The detector is immune to strong electromagnetic fields (power lines up to 500 kW).
  • The detector can detect a crawling intruder in case of special preparation of a sterial zone and sensitivity adjustment.
  • The detector can be adapted to the sector owing to the available adjustment means.
  • There is an expanded range of supply voltages in the detector within 6...35V.
  • A built-in power unit with a high coefficient of efficiency has "fluent" activation. It reduces the detector consumption in several times when power supply is switched on.
  • The detector power consumption is constant within the whole range of supply voltages and it is 0,62 W. It allows to enlarge a number of kits per one supply circuit or to use a cable with a less section.

  • Simplicity and reliability of attachment points.
  • It can be connected to different data acquisition systems.
  • It is intended to replace the detector "PION". Thereto, additional assembly works are not required because the detector plug-and-sockets are the same.
  • It is delivered with a custom-built power supply unit and all necessary cables for connection.

Specifications

  • The detection zone length is 10...300 m.
  • Width of a detection zone is:
    • 5 m if the maximum length of a sector is 300 m;
    • 4 m if the maximum length of a sector is 200 m;
    • 3 m if the maximum length of a sector is 100 m;
    • 2 m if the maximum length of a sector is 50m.
  • The height of a detection at the maximum length is 2 m minimum.
  • The detector generates an alarm when:
    • a person crosses a detection zone at a speed of 0,3…10m/sec.;
    • there is remote control of operation;
    • supply voltage is below normal;
    • there is simultaneous failure of mains voltage and backup power supply;
    • there is an attempt to mask a receiving unit of the detector;
    • there is an attempt to demount the detector;
    • the detector units are out of order;
    • there is an attempt to tamper the detector units.
  • Probability of detection is 0,98 minimum.
  • Supply voltage is 6…35 V.
  • Minimal alarm duration is 3 sec.
  • Maximum time of availability for operation is 30 sec. after power supply is ON.
  • Maximum time of availability for operation is 0,5 sec. after an alarm is generated.
  • Maximum consumption current is 0,021 À at 35 V supply voltage.
  • The individual point relay parameters:
    • maximum switched current is 0,1 A;
    • maximum switched current is 0,1 A.
  • The protection rate of the enclosure is IP-55.
  • Maximum dimensions (a mounting kit is not included):
    - transmitter - 205 * 205 * 80 mm;
    - receiver - 205 * 205 * 80 mm.
  • Maximum weigth (a mounting kit is included) without a power unit - 2,0 kg.

Operating Characteristics

  • Mounting: the detector is mounted on a post 70…200mm diameter with a steel flexible buckle with subsequent rigid fixing of a bracket or on the wall.
  • Wiring: connection to the units using braid connectors and their connection to the junction box contacts or power unit contacts according to the wiring layout.
  • Alignment: positioning of the detector units on the angle and azimuth to receive the maximum radiated signal on the connected voltmeter.
  • Adjustment: operation thresholds are set at different tactics of detection zone crossing according to the length of a protected sector and relief. The built-in indicators carry out the control.
  • Performance check – check passes or remote operation check.
