BARIER-300/500

Microwave Bistatic Detectors
“BARIER-300T/500T”-Extended Temperature Range.

Purpose

The purpose of local protective microwave detectors “BARIER-300/500”,  is to protect perimeter sectors of different sites.

General Information

The detector is a bistatic microwave detector consisting of a transmitter and a receiver, which are connected by a synchronization cable.The principle of the detector operation is to generate an electromagnetic field in the space between a transmitter and a receiver. The field forms a volumetric detection zone in the form of an oblong ellipsoid of rotation and registers the changes of this field when an intruder crosses a detection zone.

Distinctive Features

  • No “dead zones” on detection.
  • Narrow detection zone.
  • The detector is immune to the influence of strong electromagnetic fields (power lines up to 500 kV).
  • The detector can detect a crawling intruder in case of special preparation of a sterial zone and sensitivity adjustment.
  • Operation at a high level of snow.
  • The detector can be adapted to the sector owing to the available adjustment means.
  • High interference immunity.
  • Minimal seasonal work at a protected sector.

Specifications

  • Detection zone length is 10...500 m.
  • The width of a detection zone is the following:
    • 3,5m, when the length of a sector is 500m;
    • 2,7m when the length of a sector is 300m;
    • 1,9m when the length of a sector is 150m.
  • The minimum height of a detection zone is 1,9m at the maximum sector length.
  • The detector generates alarms when:
    • an intruder crosses a detection zone at a speed of 0,3…10m/sec.;
    • there is remote control of operation;
    • supply voltage is below normal one;
    • there is simultaneous failure of mains voltage and backup power supply;
    • the detector units are tampered;
    • there is an attempt to mask a receiving unit of the detector;
    • there is an attempt to demount the detector;
    • the detector units are out of order
  • Probability of detection is 0,98 minimum.
  • The detector supply voltage is 9…30 V.
  • Maximum consumption current is 0,04 À.
  • Maximum time of availability for operation is 30 sec. after power supply is ON.
  • Minimal duration of an alarm is 3 sec.

Operating Characteristics

  • Mounting: the detector is mounted on a post 70…200 mm diameter with a steel punched tape-tie with subsequent rigid fixing of a bracket.
  • Wiring: connection of labelled wires of the detector unit braids to the junction box contacts according to the wiring layout.
  • Alignment: positioning of the detector units on the angle and azimuth to receive the maximum radiated signal on the connected voltmeter.
  • Adjustment: operation thresholds are set at different tactics of detection zone crossing according to the length of a protected sector and relief. The built-in indicators carry out the control.
  • Operation check: check passes or remote operation check.
